Attenborough & Tudor PCN has an excellent opportunity for a paramedic to join out team and support out network of 4 practices, on a full time basis for 37.5 hours per week. This is a supportive role, working in tandem with our team of paramedics, GPs and other clinical staff to deliver health services.Main duties of the job
- Assess & triage patients, including same day triage, and as appropriate provide definitive treatment or make necessary referrals to other members of the practice team.
- Advise patients on general healthcare & promote self-management where appropriate.
- Be able to perform specialist health checks and reviews, perform and interpret ECGs, alongside other results as appropriate & perform investigatory procedures as required.
- Undertake the collection of pathological specimens including intravenous blood samples, swabs, etc.
- Perform investigatory procedures needed by patients and those requested by GPs and the wider PCN.
- Support the delivery of anticipatory care and end of life care plans & lead certain community services.
- Use advanced clinical skills to provide education to patients & service users, promoting self-care & empower them to make informed choices about their treatment.
- Prescribe, issue and review medications as appropriate following policy, patient group directives, NICE (national) and local clinical guidelines and local care pathways.
About usAttenborough Surgery is a training practice with GP registrars & medical students, as well as in house teaching and a team of salaried GPs, first contact physiotherapist, clinical pharmacists, social prescriber and dietitian as well as an award-winning team of mental health workers.We are a large practice of 30K+ patients, and you would be working across all 4 sites which use the same EMIS IT system and phone system. All sites are within 15 minutes drive of each other around Watford and our main site, Bushey, is a new purpose-built medical centre.We are easy accessible from Hertfordshire or North London, situated 5 mins from Junction 5 of the M1. We have parking on all sites, with a dedicated space when working at Bushey in our underground car park.Visit us online:

- Be working at least at a Band 6 level, be able to prescribe and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
