We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join Kew’s Mycorrhizal Ecology team working on the Natural Capital and Ecosystem Assessment (NCEA) programme, one of Kew’s largest Defra-funded projects. In a nationwide collaborative setting, the candidate will work across various aspects of the project including laboratory work, data analysis and field work, making decisions independently to enable progress and ongoing development of outcomes. (PDF, 171.78kb)More detailsEducated to MSc/MRes level in a subject relevant to ecological or environmental sciences, or with equivalent professional experience, our ideal candidate will be able to draw on laboratory and data analytical experience to develop ideas for novel research in mycorrhizal ecology, perform lab work and manage and analyse large datasets. They will work well in a team of researchers and will be able to manage their own workload. The candidate will also be able to organise, plan and prioritise work with a high level of productivity and accountability, while demonstrating strong communication skills and a keen interest in the role of mycorrhizal fungi and plants in peatland ecosystems.Interviews are due to take place w/c 5 May.The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is a leading plant science institute, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and major visitor attraction.
