As an active team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to people we work with in accomplishing her/his functions, the expected outputs for a Peer Advisor, supported by the Regional Peer-to-Peer Solutions Advisory Network include.
- Demonstrated proficiency in understanding and effectively utilizing materials related to Peer-to-Peer support within the program.
- Successfully delivered training and awareness sessions to refugees, ensuring they are well-equipped to access tertiary education, employment, and other opportunities.
- Conduct group and individual training sessions for refugee students (at the secondary and tertiary levels) and provide technical support to colleagues, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Compile routine reports, update training content materials, and consult with other Peer advisors and partner staff to support continuous improvement of services delivered.
- Generate insightful reports, offering a comprehensive overview of the project’s impact and adherence to objectives.
- Create educational materials derived from experiences and lessons learned during the project, enhancing the quality of training resources.
- Provide valuable recommendations for enhancing the program structure and processes, fostering continuous improvement.
- Engage effectively in meetings between the tertiary refugee student network and Education working groups, facilitating collaboration and communication.
- Compile and present comprehensive quarterly reports detailing the program’s achievements, challenges, and overall progress.
- Explore new opportunities that align with the refugee’s inclusion and employment goals and the program’s objectives, and expand the network of support for refugee students, specifically with higher education and employment providers.
- During the assignment, a final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development, such as reporting on the number of people mobilized, activities participated in, and capacities developed.
- Apply Age, Gender, and Diversity (AGD) systematically, integrate it, and document it in all activities throughout the assignment.
Qualifications/requirements
- Qualifications, skills, and experience
Education: Required Degree Level: Bachelor’s degree. Must be graduated from a higher education program.
Required Experience
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Fluency in spoken Kurdish and Arabic is required
- Experience in facilitating training programs for youth and refugees
- Knowledge of scholarships for refugees and the skillset to pursue opportunities
- Strong oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, and reporting skills;
- Organized, confident, decisive, and enthusiastic
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with advisors and students
- Lived experience of forced displacement.
- The ability to work with people from different backgrounds and cultures
- Attention to detail in document production and editing;
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
- Solid overall computer skills, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet and office technology equipment;
Desirable Experience
- Additional experience delivering training and communication skills are considered assets.
- Have affinity with or interest in the protection of people who have been displaced or stateless;
- Familiarity with database management;
- Familiarity with community engagement and communication.

Conditions of Service
The initial contract will be issued upon arrival for the period indicated above. The incumbent can be extended depending on the mandate’s continuation, funding availability, operational necessity, and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment.
