Formed in 1888, the EFL is the world’s original and oldest league football competition. It has 72 member clubs, each of which embodies the unique heritage, pride and passion of the communities they represent. We are responsible for administering and regulating the Sky Bet EFL, Sky Bet Play-Offs, Carabao Cup and Bristol Street Motors Trophy competitions.

Role Overview
As a People Officer specialising in Recruitment and Learning & Development, you will play a pivotal role in building and nurturing our talented employees which involves taking the lead on recruitment, onboarding, induction, and learning & development across the organisation including the EFL Trust, our charitable arm.
Please note – although the role focuses on recruitment and L&D – you will also be involved with employee engagement, wellbeing and general core HR activities. We work as a team so there are lots of opportunities to get involved with a wide variety of activities.
Key Responsibilities
- With the Director of People – develop a recruitment approach that focuses on attracting talent widely and recruiting the best
- Manage the recruitment, onboarding and induction process for all vacancies including within the EFL Trust
- With the Director of People – continue to develop the learning & development plan for all employees
- Manage the approach to learning & development across the EFL
- With the Director of People – develop an EFL Apprenticeship Programme
- Develop an active alumni group
- Establish positive and productive relationships with external learning organisations such as universities
- Working with the EDI Team – look at the perception of the EFL in the recruitment market – develop a more focused employer branding approach
- Develop and manage the e-recruitment system
- Develop and manage the learning management system
- Produce relevant data that will help managers manage
- Support the overall People Team
