About Role
The function of the Permit to Work Officer is to provide advice, support, monitoring and assurance to enable EAF contractors to achieve compliance with health and safety legislation and industry best practice; ultimately promoting and maintaining a positive health and safety culture across the University. 

Responsible for the management and administration of the E-permit systems whilst ensuring the Permit To Work (PTW) system is administered effectively for contractors under the control of Facilities and Estates at QMUL. You will be the focal point for managing and co-ordinating all permits under the Estates and Facilities Team.

About You
The post holder will be required to hold an IOSH Managing Safely accreditation.  Ideally experience of dealing with Estates and Facilities and have a good understanding of Health & Safety requirements for higher education as well as having detailed knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems of work. 

About the Directorate 
The Estates and Facilities Directorate is responsible for planning, creating and operating the University’s Estate, Facilities, Capital Development and Commercial Services. The Estate needs to support the University’s standing as an ambitious and research-intensive Russell Group institution and contains a wide range of research, teaching and learning facilities in addition to student residences and recreational space.
