Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Are you interested in the opportunity to work as a co-op/summer student within the Southwestern Ontario Regional Marketing, Citizenship and Communications team at RBC? We have an exciting opportunity and learning experience to offer qualified candidates – one that provides the selected individual a chance to work with an energetic, collaborative and creative team on a wide range of projects focused on communications, brand activations, event planning and execution in a dynamic environment.This role will be a hybrid position requiring work from home, in the office or in the community.What will you do?Primary Responsibilities

  • Leverage your creativity and innovative thinking to provide event planning and onsite execution of events aligned to regional marketing and citizenship partnerships with a focus on DEI partnerships (Pride and Indigenous events), and signature sponsorships including RBC Rock the Park.
  • Use your solid writing skills to prepare engaging internal content and communications focused on driving employee engagement and building awareness & excitement of regional sponsorships and other initiatives.
  • Coordinate RBC Olympian and RBC x Music artist requests for regional events.
  • Assist with one-off requests for marketing resources and other inquiries for the team.
  • Other projects and assignments as required related to marketing, citizenship and communications team.

What do you need to succeed?Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus in marketing, communications, event planning or a business-related discipline.
  • Previous work experience in marketing, citizenship, communications, event planning, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Strong leadership sense and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and communication skills
  • Positive attitude with a team-first mentality
  • Ability to be innovative and creative and think outside-the-box
  • Ability to simultaneously manage projects on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to seek creative solutions to multi-faceted problems
  • Personal flexibility to work outside of business hours and travel as required (ie. evenings and weekends)
  • Digital and technical awareness and proficiency across different platforms and operating systems (ie. Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; Canva; web publishing experience is beneficial).

  • Be returning to school after the work term end-date; or
  • If you are not returning to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
