PHARMACY TECHNICIAN
£30,229.00 (FTE) PERMANENT

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our pharmacy team at Cove Bay & Kincorth Medical Centre. This is an exciting opportunity where the successful candidate will work alongside our Multi-Disciplinary Team including Doctors, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Mental Health Practitioner, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technician, Practice Nurses, Management Team and Admin Staff.
The successful candidate will provide excellent patient centred care and will undertake patient facing and supporting roles to promote medicine optimisation and reduce medicine waste.
The role of a Pharmacy Technician in primary care involves:
- Working alongside our current Pharmacy Team (including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technician and Admin Staff to provide pharmacotherapy services in General Practice.
- Supporting and developing excellent working relations with health care professionals in primary care, secondary care and community pharmacy settings.
- Provide a point of contact for non-clinical medication queries or medication management issues and refer to the practice pharmacists as appropriate.
- Carry out medication reconciliation on hospital discharge, outpatient clinic letters and patient medical notes.
- Carry out non-clinical medication reviews (paper and patient facing).
- Issue serial prescriptions and acute/repeat prescriptions with support from the Practice Pharmacists.
- Liaise with staff in care homes/supported accommodation to optimise medication management and safety.
- Assess medication suitability for compliance aid dispensing, arrange appropriate prescriptions and effectively annotate patient records.
- Set up appropriate prescriptions with MAR charts where a patient is receiving support from a formal care provider.
