Compensation: Volunteer (unpaid)Summary: This is a team position! When a task is requested, raise your hand if you are available to help. Photographers are required to meet with fosters at their homes or a central location to do photoshoots of our adoptable dogs. Basic knowledge of photography and photo editing is preferred. Basic skills in composition, background, and lighting are preferred. Photos can be taken with digital cameras or cell phones. Photographers may also be tasked with editing photos from fosters and helping to keep photo files organized in Google Drive.Rescue Mission: At Path of Hope Rescue we save pregnant dogs and puppies in high kill shelters in the South.Rescue Overview: Our Spokane, WA based Rescue strives to decrease the euthanasia rate of high risk dogs in the southern United States by transporting pregnant dogs and puppies to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive homes. We do not have a kennel or building location and are 100% foster based We currently have two paid employees and rely heavily on volunteers and fosters.Vision: Eliminating euthanasia of dogs in the South by decreasing the amount of dogs breeding unchecked. This role involves photographing dogs in various settings, such as foster homes and outdoor environments, to showcase their personalities and unique qualities. The photographer works closely with the Foster team to understand each dog’s background and behavior, ensuring that the images reflect their best attributes and appeal to potential adopters. This requires not only technical expertise in photography but also patience and a deep understanding of canine behavior to create a comfortable environment for the dogs during photo sessions.In addition to capturing high-quality images, the photographer is responsible for editing and organizing the photos for use across various platforms, including the rescues website, social media channels, and marketing materials. The photographer collaborates with marketing teams to develop visual content that supports fundraising efforts, adoption campaigns, and community outreach programs. This role demands creativity and an eye for detail, as well as proficiency with photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as the photographer will be asked to focus on one project at a time, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high production standards.
