Vancouver, BC CanadaThe Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine/Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is seeking physicians with skills, expertise, and interest in pursuing a clinical position in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) which fits the future vision of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine as part of the University of British Columbia, and the BC Women’s Hospital and Health Center (BCW) in beautiful Vancouver, BC.As the successful applicant for this position, you will have accredited subspecialty training in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) and be eligible for:

  • Sub-specialty Maternal Fetal Medicine Certification with the

(RCPSC)

  • Licensure to practice from the

(CPSBC)As a member of the medical team, you will be providing subspecialty clinical care in the area of high-risk pregnancy, applying current research evidence and best practice standards. You will also participate in the recognized outreach, inpatient and outpatient care activities. In your role with the University, you will pursue and excel in academic activities involving research, teaching and administration. You will be expected to integrate and collaborate fully with all members of the clinical team and exhibit outstanding professionalism in that regard. The MFM division, based at BC Women’s hospital operates in a collaborative, shared clinical practice which requires a high degree of teamwork and in alignment with the BCW values and mission statement. Clinical work includes pre-pregnancy, antepartum, labor and delivery and post-partum care of MFM specific patients. This may include work and collaboration at the tertiary referral centers for BC Women’s, which includes but are not limited to, Vancouver Acute Hospital, and St. Paul’s Hospital, for pregnant patients with complex surgical or maternal medical conditions.The applicants will be evaluated based on the totality of their experience and skills however, the following (in no particular order/importance) will be given more weight to the application. * Additional training and/or experience in Maternal/Obstetrical Medicine as it pertains to high risk pregnancy.

  • Additional training, interest and/or experience in Research activities including but not limited to knowledge generation, knowledge translation and/or knowledge implementation.
  • Additional training, interest and/or experience in leadership/administration.

The arrangement will take the form of a salary/service contract.
