For more information, please visit the following link: Responsibilities:MAJOR DUTIES:Provide both Obstetric and Gynecologic care for a full range of cases, including the most difficult. Complicated cases requiring treatment or services for which existing facilities are not adequate are referred to other medical facilities. Responsible for consultative services to other staff members and non OB/GYN providers.1. Examines; establishes diagnoses and prescribes course of treatment for OB/GYN patients including those of an unusually complex and difficult nature. Performs surgical procedures as a Primary Surgeon and also assists in Operating Room (OR) under minimal supervision. Will guide and direct the assisting Medical Officer, nurse anesthetist and nurses. Performs advanced colposcopy and treatment of dysplasia. Reviews and studies medical history and progress of patients. Responds and evaluates OB/GYN emergencies often requiring significant coordination between operating room staff, nursing, anesthesia and pediatric providers. Completes medical record documentation with accuracy, timeliness and thoroughness. Ensures all outpatient records are completed and closed within 72 hours of the encounter. Is responsible for the completion of all medical records in an electronic medical record.Evaluates laboratory and clinical findings and provides treatment and follow-up care. Collaborates with specialists on interrelated problems. Performs screenings and diagnostic modalities for OB/GYN malignancies (biopsies and colposcopies), as well as preventive care and education for women seen in the OB/GYN Clinic. Performs ultrasounds to include viability, amniotic fluid assessment, biometry, fetal surveillance and biophysical profile. Performs basic infertility workups, evaluations, treatments. Performs deliveries, to include operative vaginal delivery, cesarean section, induction of labor, etc.Evaluates functional and dysfunctional problems related to the female pelvis to include masses, pain, urological complaints, bleeding abnormalities, hormonal dysfunction and infections.

Exercises consultative responsibility in the specialty areas of OB/GYN to other specialties within the hospital, including the Emergency Department and Primary Care, as well as within the OB/GYN clinic to the Certified Nurse Midwives on the more complicated cases. Guides and directs the assisting Medical Officers in the care and treatment of difficult cases and answers questions of ward personnel regarding hospitalized OB/GYN patients. Responds to OB/GYN calls and provides back up call for Obstetricians and Midwives.
15%3. Participates in didactic and clinical teaching of students rotating in the OB/GYN Clinic. Participates in Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs to remain current in medical knowledge and practice as required and keeps abreast of current literature. Participates in Quality Assurance activities through periodic chart and procedure audits. Attends monthly professional staff and other mandatory meetings. Participates in monthly training.
10%Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Basic Requirements:US Citizenship requiredBoard Certified/EligibleDoctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
