Your Opportunity:Provision of direct client care including assessment and treatment, and indirect care to support pediatric clients with complex pediatric conditions. This position provides clinical leadership and coordination for Pediatric Clinics, or inpatient unit, and ensures day to day operations within the pediatric team. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team within his/her assigned team within the Pediatric Division. The successful incumbent will also participate in the education of clients, families, students, colleagues and others. The incumbent ensures that the clinical practice of the assigned team is evidence based and meets high clinical practice standards. Supervision of the clinical practice of students and assistants is required. Clinical coordination will be part of the duties. The program area may be subject to change based on operational requirements.Description:As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.

Required Qualifications:Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Additional Required Qualifications:Effective written, verbal, communication, and computer skills are required. The successful incumbent will be capable of performing lifts, transfers, repositioning, and other physically demanding activities associated with this role. Must be able model resilience in the face of ever-changing health care landscape. Proficiency with Connect Care is required. Minimum of five years’ experience working in the rehabilitation of pediatric clients within a multidisciplinary team/program is required. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in leading or coordinating services and teams, while working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary members is strongly recommended.
