Job description

An exciting Opportunity to work in a reputable unitary council in the East of England. You will be joining the dvelopment management team to deal with all types of planning applications. You will also prepare documents related to planning committee or planning appeals as required.

  • Process planning applications and related tasks.
  • Provide professional advice on planning issues to the public and other departments.
  • Manage a caseload of planning applications and appeals.
  • Prepare and present reports for the Planning Committee.
  • Participate in the enforcement of planning control.
  • Liaise with applicants, agents, and consultees to negotiate outcomes.
  • Attend site visits and meetings as required.
  • Stay informed about changes and developments in planning policy and legislation.

  • A degree in Planning or a related discipline.
  • Experience in processing planning applications within a local authority setting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good understanding of planning policy and legislation.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
