As part of its sustained growth, Gaming1 is looking for a Platform Engineer to join its Platform team. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining the technical capabilities of our internal developer platform, enabling seamless software delivery within GAMING1 in a robust, secure, observable, resilient, and self-service way.

YOUR ROLE

At GAMING1, Platform Engineers are the builders and maintainers of the technical capabilities that power our internal developer platform. We treat our platform as a product, with our engineering teams as our customers, and our core principle is providing self-serviceability to reduce cognitive load and empower these teams.

You will:

  • Co-Design and implement platform capabilities using Infrastructure-as-Code principles;
  • Create self-service tools and automation that improve developer productivity;
  • Ensure security standards are applied and kept up to date;
  • Monitor performance, capacity, and availability from a customer-centric point of view;
  • Implement and validate disaster recovery procedures and processes;
  • Proactively test the flexibility and resilience of the platform;
  • Research, experiment with, and evaluate new technologies to drive platform innovation;
  • Evangelize platform capabilities through documentation and workshops;
  • Collect and act on user feedback to continuously improve the platform experience.

YOUR PROFILE

Required Qualifications and Mindset:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience;
  • 2+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or related fields;
  • Strong platform engineering mindset: focus on self-serviceability, automation, and developer experience;
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar);
  • Working knowledge of container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm);
  • Ability to write code for automation purposes (Python, .NET, or similar);
  • Understanding of security standards for operational platforms.

  • Product thinking: ability to understand user needs and prioritize platform features accordingly;
  • Willingness to take calculated risks and experiment with new approaches to solve difficult problems;
  • Experience building self-service interfaces and developer portals;
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and developer experience tools;
  • Knowledge of observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana);
  • Experience with PostgreSQL database systems, RabbitMQ message brokers, Kafka streaming platforms or IAM providers;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team while knowing when to work autonomously;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to share technical knowledge.
