Our staff help make a real difference to the quality of people’s livesPlay Worker – Part TimeBlacon Adventure Playground, Chester£14,264 – £14,706 per year22.5 hours per weekWe have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join the Venny Team as a Play Worker at the Blacon Adventure Playground in Chester. The role involves farm duties including feeding, grooming and maintaining animals, cleaning pens and general cleaning as you go as well as supervise and engage with the children and young people who visit the playground.The role of Play Worker will include:
- Supporting the provision of safe, creative, and appropriate play opportunities and educational programmes
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with children, young people and their parents/carers
- Assisting in planning a wide range of inclusive activities to meet the needs of groups
- Promoting and supporting the safeguarding of children and young people observing the relevant policies
Skills and experiences:
- Recent experience in a similar role working with children and young people in a play or child and animal care setting
- Level 2 qualification in play work is desirable
- Safeguarding minimum of level 2 is essential
- Practical understanding of the needs of children and young people with a commitment to the provision of high quality childcare
- An awareness and commitment to equality of opportunity and a positive approach to inclusive practice
- Proficient user of Microsoft packages along with bike repair skills
