Job IntroductionWe are excited to be recruiting for a Policy Officer in Lincolnshire! If you have a passion for policy development, strong analytical skills, and a desire to drive positive change, we’d love to hear from you!As part of the newly formed policy team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the delivery and transformation of our planning service.You will oversee engagement, spatial planning and digital activities across our service. We aim to become a leading planning service, setting a benchmark in digital and community engagement.What you will do:Expert facilitator: Provide technical guidance and advice on the evaluation, management and monitoring of geospatial data and statistics, including relevant planning policies, authority monitoring reports and best practice guidancePartnership builder: Build strong relationships across service areas and development management, infrastructure and policy teams to develop common datasets, train/mentor staff and exchange knowledge/best practice.Community campaigner: Oversee and manage community engagement and consultation exercises to gather views from residents and other stakeholders on plans, programmes and strategies, including the Lincolnshire Minerals and Waste Local Plan.Data-driven decision maker: Collect, analyse and monitor data, formulate recommendations, prepare reports and interpret spatial maps and models, such as future waste and mineral forecasting, green infrastructure audits and energy master planningCreative innovator: Create compelling visual materials and geospatial information to communicate complex information to diverse audiences as well as innovative solutions, like artificial intelligence.Communication powerhouse: Conflict resolution, negotiation, organisational and communication skills to help speed up decision making and mediate between competing interestsIn this role, you will prepare an integrated mapping tool hosting geospatial data. This includes energy networks, infrastructure pipelines, major development sites and utility projects. You will also contribute to the delivery of planning frameworks such as spatial development strategies.The role has flexible working patterns split between home, site and office. Tuesdays are office days when the Place Team are all required to be in the Lincoln office. On occasion additional days may be required. Being mobile across Lincolnshire, you will need a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for this role.About usWe are the second largest local authority in England, encompassing a diverse range of environments.
