Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As Portfolio Risk Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the day to day risk monitoring of discretionary managed client portfolios within RBC Phillips, Hager & North Investment Counsel, RBC Estate & Trust Services and RBC Private Counsel USA. You will support our Portfolio Risk Advisor through report generation, data management as well as direct communication with Investment Counsellors and Portfolio Managers on specific risk matters.For more information, please visit: https://www.rbcwealthmanagement.com/en-ca/phnWhat will you do?Manage the timely and accurate preparation of a number of internal and regulatory reports.Maintain key databases supporting the portfolio risk monitoring process in areas including custom rules, bond credit ratings, security classification and market capitalization.Support the production and ongoing development of management reporting for all business lines to ensure timely and relevant reporting of key risk issues.Review and approve Investment Policy Statements.Oversee employee trade monitoring including contacting employees in regard to trade violations and responding to requests for trade approvals.Proactively contact ICs on specific risk issues to advise of and obtain a resolution.Your primary contacts will be with the following: Portfolio Risk Advisors, Operations and Technology, Compliance and Trade Surveillance, RBC GAM Trading and Portfolio Modelling and Investment Counsellor teamsWhat do you need to succeed?Must HaveUndergraduate degreeStrong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and partner effectively with front office professionals on key risk issues.Understanding of capital markets in particular as it relates to trading, settlement and corporate actions.High level of skill in the use of MS applications Excel and AccessExceptional attention to detailNice to HaveExperience in a private client discretionary role providing a high level understanding of portfolio construction as it relates to Ultra High Net Worth/High Net Worth private clientsFamiliarity with RBC Wealth Management systems such as Broadridge BPS, ServiceLink, ClientSource, ClientLink, FMC and MACSCompletion of industry investment courses (CIM, CSC) considered a plus.What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
