Position Overview The Habib Institute for Asian Studies at the University of Idaho invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in East Asian Cinema and Media Studies, with a start date of August 1, 2024. Fellows will pursue their own research, teach two undergraduate courses per annum (as determined by the needs of the College and the Institute), and assist with the Institute’s administrative and outreach functions.

Required Experience
  • Research focus on East Asian Cinema and Media Studies
Required Education
  • Ph.D. in an appropriate field required by start of the position
Required Other
Additional Preferred
  • Experience teaching a course on Japanese Anime;
  • Prior experience teaching and mentoring students from varying cultural backgrounds
