Job Description:Grade: UE07: £40,497 – £48,149 per annumCollege of Science and Engineering/School of ChemistryFull-time: 35 hours per weekFixed term: 28 months wef from 1 May 2025 or as soon as possible thereafterWe are looking for a highly motivated and skilled scientist to contribute to the development of spatially-resolved 14C measurement techniques by mass spectrometry.EPSRC-funded research.The Opportunity:This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge research involving the development and optimisation of spatially-resolved 14C mass spectrometry. The role will focus on implementing and refining novel techniques, operating advanced instrumentation, and delivering high-quality data to support the project’s objectives. You will join a dynamic and collaborative research environment, contributing to innovative scientific advancements with real-world impact.Your skills and attributes for success:
- Strong background in mass spectrometry, analytical chemistry, physics or a related field.
- Experience with instrumentation development, optimisation, and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
- Proven ability to analyse, interpret, and report experimental data accurately.
- Strong communication skills, with experience in collaborating across disciplines or presenting research findings.
