Public Relations & Communications Manager
Hybrid environment, based out of TorontoJoin RGC as a PR & Communications Manager and play a vital role in fostering meaningful connections through storytelling, strategic communication, and public relations. In this role, you’ll help shape our thought leadership strategy and how we engage with the communities we serve while building strong relationships internally and externally.We’re seeking a curious, detail-oriented, and passionate leader who can craft impactful narratives, amplify our voice across diverse platforms, and collaborate to drive real change.Key Responsibilities: * Strategic Communications (50%)
- Craft compelling, impactful narratives tailored to the communities we serve – Demonstrate knowledge of EDI principles and experience in engaging diverse communities, with a focus on ethnocultural markets.
- Oversee the development of content, including press releases, newsletters, blogs, social media posts, and reports.
- Ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with the brand tone.
- Proofread, edit, and approve internal stakeholder created content.
- Manage all PR KPI monitoring and reporting for external communications strategy and PR, identify areas of opportunity for future strategies.
- Strategy & Planning (20%)
- Own PR strategy and execution by crafting compelling press releases, op-eds, thought leadership pieces and proactively research and secure press media opportunities.
- Develop integrated communication plans across all relevant channels.
- Collaborate with leadership to align strategies with the organization’s vision and mission.
- Research & Insights (20%)
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging opportunities, and best practices.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance communication strategies.
- Media & Internal Relations (10%)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, and other media professionals.
- Prepare and distribute press materials, including press releases, media kits, and pitches.
- Support internal communication efforts to foster engagement and alignment.
- Other Tasks as Required
- Take on additional projects and responsibilities that align with organizational needs.
Critical Skills:
- 5+ years in a strategic PR or Communications role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in PR/Communications
- Potential for infrequent domestic travel
- Outstanding storytelling and writing skills (portfolio required, including press releases and other writing samples)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to cultivate strong relationships
- Curious, resourceful, and drive toward innovation
- Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual (EN/FR) an asset.
