The Bodleian Libraries, one of the UK’s most popular tourist attractions and world-class academic research institutions, is looking for an experienced, proactive communications creative to drive their PR & Marketing functions forward.

This role is integral to maintaining the Bodleian’s esteemed international profile and building our visitor base. It is split 60/40 between marketing and PR responsibility, so you will manage the delivery of our media relations activity, marketing campaigns and distribution networks, supporting awareness and increased engagement with our public programme, tours and exhibitions.

We work closely with a range of suppliers, including a PR agency and a marketing consultancy, who you will brief and manage day to day, working closely with the Head of Communications.

Applicants should be as comfortable dealing with reputational issues as they are writing copy for leaflets and newsletters, and a soft spot for budget tracking and brand compliance is a bonus. You should have a solid knowledge of how to create effective content for targeted audiences and develop innovative, high-impact campaigns that deliver great coverage against strategic objectives.

Experience in the heritage and arts sector is desired but not required, however evidence of successful creative communications campaign delivery and media coverage generation, in any industry, is essential. The ideal candidate for this position is a team-player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional interpersonal skills and is impeccably organised.

No two days are ever the same in the Bodleian communications team, but our collaborative approach and varied content calendar, make for a stimulating role and a fulfilling working environment.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week.

You will be required to upload your CV and a supporting statement as part of your online application. Your supporting statement should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the job description, and explain how you meet each one. CV’s will not be considered.
