They will continuously invest in those relationships to ensure their clients achieve their goals and create a positive environment where their personnel are empowered and can develop their careers.The Role – Preservation TechnicianLocation – South WalesType – Full Time, PermanentSalary – £DOE + Holidays, PensionThe Preservation Technician will play a key role in supporting the site’s preservation and minimal maintenance activities. This includes monitoring equipment during preservation schedules, performing basic preventative and minor corrective maintenance, and conducting regular site inspections.The role also involves compliance tasks, such as Legionella water temperature checks, and fire watch rounds when security is not on site.Working closely with Preservation Operatives and Preservation Assistants, the Preservation Technician will ensure that preservation protocols are consistently followed to keep equipment in a safe, operational state.Key Responsibilities:

  • Fire Watch and Security Support
  • Corrective Maintenance and Minor Repairs
  • Compliance and Regulatory Checks
  • Health & Safety Compliance

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 2 years in an industrial or maintenance setting, preferably with experience in preventative maintenance and basic mechanical repairs.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical skills for performing minor corrective maintenance, such as greasing, oil changes, chain tensioning and low voltage electrical maintenance activities Familiarity with equipment inspection, defect reporting, and job card (work order) management.
  • Understanding of compliance tasks, particularly in relation to Legionella control and fire safety practices.
  • Valid forklift driving licence for the movement of spares and consumables.

Skills

  • Proficient in using hand tools and performing mechanical and electrical tasks, with strong attention to detail in minor maintenance and repairs.
  • High level of attentiveness to detect equipment issues and accurately record inspection findings.
  • Capable of working closely with Preservation Operatives and Preservation Assistants, supporting team objectives in preservation tasks.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, including fire watch procedures and Legionella compliance, with a proactive approach to maintaining site safety.
  • Assist in maintaining records of maintenance, inspections, and compliance tasks to support transparency and audit readiness.
  • Ability to operate and monitor DCS equipment accurately, assess interlocks, and apply bypasses while understanding potential risks.

Expected salary

£40000 – 42000 per year
