Location: Widnes Hours: Full Time SEN Focus: ASD, ADHD, and Some Challenging Behaviour Type: Mainstream Primary School About the Role: We are looking for a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join the team in a mainstream primary school in Widnes. This is a full-time position supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and some challenging behaviour, within a large and supportive mainstream primary school. The school is home to three dedicated SEND bases (EYFS, KS1, and KS2) catering for a range of needs. As a Primary TA, you will work closely with students in these bases, providing tailored 1-to-1 and group support, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop social and emotional skills. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1-to-1 and small group support to students with ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviour. Assist in the delivery of personalised learning plans, helping students to access the curriculum. Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development. Work collaboratively with class teachers and SEND staff to implement strategies for inclusion. Help students develop independence and engage with activities both inside and outside the classroom. Skills and Experience Required: Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential). A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs. Ability to work as part of a team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Strong communication skills and a willingness to engage with parents and other professionals.
