Principal Geo Environmental ConsultantWe are looking for a Principal Environmental Consultant (Contaminated Land) to join our Environmental Compliance and Ground Engineering Team in London.RPS projects are all around you. With us, you’ll find work that is challenging and rewarding, and you’ll be supported every step of the way.What you’ll be doing:You will be responsible for managing and overseeing land contamination and environmental assessment projects from pre-commencement to completion and close out. Projects will be across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, energy and aviation. You will be providing a range of services relating to environmental and land contamination management, including those relating to sales and acquisitions, planning, permitting and risk management.The role is based in London but forms part of a UK-wide team undertaking projects across the country. You will be a team player, providing support to more senior members in managing the team and taking an active role in mentoring and supporting the development of junior team members.Key responsibilities:Your responsibilities will include bid writing, project management, reporting and technical review as required, in addition to health and safety management, resourcing and financial control.At this level you will be expected to contribute to business development activities to support the winning of new work, both with existing and with new clients, and to help to develop and grow the team. This will include attending client meetings and events and giving presentations as required.You will strive for technical excellence, continuing to learn and stay abreast of developments in legislation and good practice guidance and support the team to do the same.Who we’re looking for:We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and driven professional with relevant degree or equivalent, ideally with a post graduate MSc. or PhD, relevant professional experience and Chartered with an appropriate professional industry group. Experience in Phase 1 and Phase 2 reporting writing and technical review, proposal writing, project management, including booking and managing site investigations, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.You should be confident in managing project finances and resources from project inception to close out, including change management, experienced in managing a wide variety of subcontractors and have experience of health and safety management and CDM regulations.You will need to be approachable and confident in managing and directing junior staff.
