Job description
WRC, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Principal Toxicologist to join our growing business on a full time and permanent basis in Swindon.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our NCET team, to support the expansion of services in toxicology and drive future growth. The individual will address challenges in hazard and risk assessment of chemicals. Collaboration with experts across the multidisciplinary organisation, as well as external academic, industry, and regulatory partners, is encouraged. This role offers a chance for a dynamic and motivated individual to contribute significantly to the safe and sustainable use of chemicals.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering technical excellence in hazard and risk assessment of chemicals for clients.
- Developing a go-to-market strategy, with the support of senior colleagues, for scientific and regulatory services focusing on human health and environmental toxicology, and risk assessment.
- Supporting business development activities, including market engagement, proposal development, and securing new projects.
- Leading project delivery while providing guidance to junior staff.
- Line-management responsibility within the team, fostering growth, development, and engagement of direct reports.
- To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company’s evolving needs, you may be asked to perform additional tasks that may be reasonably expected within your level of capability without additional remuneration.
Skills / Experience:
- A PhD or MSc in toxicology or related degree and work experience in a related field with demonstrable post-graduate experience (consumer healthcare/water industry/consumer products or agrochemicals)
- Substantial technical knowledge in toxicology, risk assessment, and chemical regulation.
- Active member of relevant professional body e.g., British Toxicological Society and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commercial and delivery awareness, contributing to developing strong teams and building trusted client relationships to affect change.
Salary / Benefits:
- Paying from £55,000 pa plus DOE
- Flexible working hours based on a 37-hour week, Monday to Friday
