Job description
Provide an effective and efficient administration service to HMP Kilmarnock. The duties of the post include accurate data input and basic financial reconciliation, covering all aspects of prisoner earnings and private cash.ResponsibilitiesTo carry out payment and administration of prisoner wages in accordance with the Prisoner Wage Earning Policy, Finance & Guidance Policy, SPS Aims and Objectives, operating standards and procedures.To accurately check and input all Prisoner Wages on CMS weekly.To accurately check Wage Sheet submitted from various areas prior to inputting on CMS.Process orders for weekly newspapers and magazines, deducting from wages and private cash, accurately reconciling expenditure against income utilising CMS reports.Accurately log all financial transactions on CMS for the various options; Reception Cash, Houseblock Cash, Online Payments, Courts Out, Liberations, Transfers In and Out, providing the relevant reports and back-up to the Cashier for posting and balancing purposes.To address any enquires in relation to Prisoner Wages and Prisoner’s Private Cash.Person SpecificationSPS recruitment and selection practice is based on the fundamentals of our Competencies for Success Framework. EssentialPrevious experience of financial reconciliations. EssentialGood numeracy skills and the ability to compare a range of information.
