Location: This role will support both Edmonton Downtown District and Edmonton South District, the candidate must be able to travel between locations as required.

The Opportunity
The Private Banking Specialist role will be the main support for the Private Banker by providing first class personalized client service to all existing and potential clients displaying a comprehensive knowledge of products and processes. The successful candidate will be supporting with day-to-day client enquiries and providing an unrivalled client experience. This role will also proactively support the administration involved with onboarding new clients and strengthening existing client relationships in collaboration with the Private Banker. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of compliance practices and operational standards.
Areas of Focus
Personal Financial Services
Execute on the direction of the Private Banker in the delivery and development of personal financial services to clients and prospects by taking care of all administration related to opening of accounts, facilitating purchases of investment products and any other products or services
Work alongside the Private Banker and other credit structuring resources to assess, structure, and underwrite personal lending requests including complex, tax-driven lending requests.
Take direction from the Private Banker to support client coordination to and from other business lines in CWB including partner companies.
Serve as primary client contact when the Private Banker is out of the office meeting with clients and prospects and be able work independently to execute on client requests and provide a “concierge-like” level of service.
Proactively identify opportunities when reviewing client statements and information to bring to the Private Bankers attention for action.
Ensure KYC (Know Your Client) is utilized regularly for Client retention and relationship building.
Ensuring client requests are dealt with immediately and keeping both the client and Private Banker apprised of the progress.
Administration & Compliance Management
Support Private Banker in overall management of client compliance.
Support Private Banking in monitoring and managing the ongoing risks within the lending portfolio.
Responsible for the compliance requirements associated with portfolio.
Ensure accurate data collection and input of client data for relationship and regulatory purposes.
Accountable for adhering to CWB policies with every client interaction.
Ensure policies and procedures are followed, escalating exceptions as described.
Ensure timely and consistent follow-up for account reviews.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor products & services.
Who we’re looking for & what you’ve done
Core knowledge requirements
4+ years of Personal banking experience.
Proficient in all aspects of personal banking including personal lending.
Commercial credit structuring experience would be an asset.
Demonstrated Experience
Ensures and maintains client satisfaction with the product and services offered by CWB and our partner companies.
Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
Client driven – interested in the client, greets them with a smile, makes eye contact, adapts tone and pace, is timely, observes client to decide approach to use.
Follows policies and procedures when completing tasks.
Exceptional conflict resolution and objection handling skills.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
Strong attention to detail.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office..
