Process Architecture LeadRole Title (incl. grade): Process Architecture Lead (B)Role title that this role reports to: Head of Business ArchitectureRole title two levels above this role: Chief ArchitectRole PurposeThe Process Architecture Lead is responsible for helping to govern our firmwide processes and collaborating with our business process owners to improve internal business operations. The Process Architecture Lead needs to have a deep knowledge of business process management, process analysis and modelling using well-established methods like lean and six sigma, and experience in leading optimisation and automation projects, using process mining to aid process discovery and analysis. Also, a solid grasp of both business and technology concepts; requirements and designs; how they depend on and affect each other. This would include having experience of being part of change and transformation programmes and project management skills, to make realistic and achievable plans that deliver on the Firm’s main goals.Summary of Essential Knowledge

  • Expert in managing, analysing, and designing business processes using established methods like lean and six sigma
  • Ability to create and update an inventory / repository of enterprise processes
  • Experience of establishing and/or running a Business Process Management / Operational Excellence centre of excellence
  • Expert / experience in developing optimisation / automation approaches.
  • Experience in applying and promoting process mining to aid process discovery and analysis.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following domains: Technology, HR, Learning, Sales & Marketing, Risk, Legal and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide process architecture / business process management advice and assurance
  • Keep up with future technology trends to improve Process Architecture
  • Provide guidance and frameworks on optimisation and automation techniques for customers.
  • Apply lean or six sigma methods for operational excellence (focus on KBS and EWT)
  • Teach the business how to use Aris process mining
  • Train Business architecture team on process mining and optimisation
  • Use process mining to do process discovery, analysis, and monitoring
  • Lead process optimisation design and advice for key transformation projects
  • Manage UK firm process model repository (Aris) and map it to tech landscape (Alfabet) for transformation demand
  • Build Enterprise Process Model (level 1-3) in Aris (cover EWT and KBS first and then other capabilities as needed)
  • Connect level 4, 5, and 6 processes from transformation projects to L1-3 enterprise process model
  • Maintain process standards.
  • Govern and assure processes for key transformation projects.
  • Help audit and/or compliance show process level controls with data and visualisation
  • Work with business and process owners to develop Aris for business process management roadmap
  • Manage Aris & Aris Process Mining Product Roadmap (for Business Process Management from process owners and modellers)
  • Work with business and tech functions to align business and IT with the process inventory connected to tech landscape in Alfabet
  • Work with business and product owners to envision process changes and the technical changes needed
  • Lead or advise on optimisation and/or automation project/s delivery and structure
  • Support process modelling as required
  • Support Aris users as required
  • Run Aris user group forums

Essential Technical skills

  • Extensive experience in Business Process Management and creating and analysing process models
  • Expert in leading and running improvement / automation projects with lean and or six sigma techniques / automation tools.
  • Experience of using Aris process mining for improvement projects
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following domains Technology, HR, Learning, Sales & Marketing, Risk, Legal and Finance.
  • Good knowledge of at least one technology domain, incl. Collaboration & Experience; Automation; Data Science & AI; Data; Integration; Security; and Cloud Engineering
  • A high level of general, technical knowledge incl. current, emerging and future technology market trends and their impact on business
  • Experience in managing project teams, people and vendor management
  • Experience on change and transformation programme
  • Good knowledge of project management concepts, incl. Gantt charts/plans, risks, assumptions and dependencies, etc.
  • Certified in Six Sigma and / or Lean
  • Possess a high level of knowledge in core areas, incl. design thinking, business capability modelling, process models, value stream mapping, customer & user profiling, journey maps

  • Skilled at conveying technical ideas to a non-technical audience in a way that is meaningful, easy to understand and engaging
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good personal and leadership skills
  • Ability to use networks in KPMG, e.g. to access additional expertise if needed
  • Comfortable working with uncertainty at the start of projects, with ability to provide clear direction despite this
