The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.JOB PURPOSEThe Product Developer I will support the Design & Product Team with a focus on both garment/apparel and gear development, specifically flotation devices and other regulated products. This entry-level role is ideal for a candidate eager to learn and develop foundational skills in product development, manufacturing processes, and compliance standards.RESPONSIBILITIES:Documentation & Data Management: Creating and maintain accurate product data including Bills of Materials (BOMs), spec sheets, technical drawing packages.Re-sourcing Activities: Assist in the re-sourcing both apparel and flotation devices, ensuring all changes are properly documented and communicated across teams.Product Life Cycle Tracking: Support the tracking of product revisions and updates, ensuring seamless transitions throughout the development cycle for both garments and gear.Development Process Support: Assist in maintaining a structured product development process across multiple product classes and categories (Apparel / Flotation, Recreation / Commercial / Industrial / Public Safety).Regulatory Compliance: Support in ensuring the adherence to product standards and regulations for flotation devices and other regulated gear throughout the development and production process.Factory Communication: Collaborate with factories to ensure quality, compliance, and timeline requirements.Manufacturing Support: Aid in manufacturability improvements for both garments and flotation gear, working alongside internal teams and external vendors to identify cost efficiencies.Other Projects: Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Manager of Development.QualificationsREQUIREMENTS:0-2 years of experience in apparel or technical product development, or a related field.Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Apparel Design/Development, Fashion, or a relevant field.Basic knowledge of garment construction, fit, and performance product development.Familiarity with MS Office Suite; experience with Adobe Suite is an asset.Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized.Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.Effective communication skills, both oral and written.Interest in activities related to Mustang Survival’s focus areas (sailing, fishing, paddling, boating) is considered an asset.ATTRIBUTES:Organized and detail-oriented.Eager to learn and grow in a team-oriented environment.Proactive and able to work independently when necessary.Ability to manage multiple tasks with a focus on meeting deadlines.Willingness to travel, if required.
