Overview of job:
We are looking for a Product Owner to join Global’s Digital Advertising Exchange (DAX) business as part of our Commercial Technology team.
Discover exciting problems or opportunities that impact the business and our users
Work with the team to turn these into new insights and features
Ensure the team can efficiently deliver new features whilst keeping partners updated on progress
Track the efficiency and outcomes of any new features
About DAX:
DAX was developed and launched by Global in 2014 and covers both digital audio and digital-out-of-home (DOOH) media.
The DAX digital audio advertising platform reaches an audience of over 160 million people across the UK, US, and Canada. As well as Global’s brands like Capital, Radio X, Heart and Classic FM DAX also partners with the loves of SoundCloud, TuneIn, ITV, Reach!
DAX Outdoor has stimulated the growth of programmatic DOOH advertising and helped redefine the way DOOH is traded in the UK. Global’s reach across tens of thousands of advertising sites makes it one of the biggest players in the market.

Measures of success:
In the first few months, you would have:
Developed a deep understanding of the DAX platform’s core capabilities, features, metrics and how they impact the business
Understood DAX’s long term strategic plans, current road map and how your day-to-day work contributes to this
Embedded within the DAX technology teams and started to build strong working relationships with the other disciplines that you collaborate with.
Taken ownership for facilitating the sprint cycle and all associated ceremonies (e.g., planning, demo, retro)
Responsibilities of the role:
Understand Platform data – Be familiar with key metrics, dimensions and how they impact the business. Identify trends & anomalies that might indicate issues or opportunities for new features.
Use the relevant tools to access platform data – Become familiar / proficient with all tools necessary to access & export platform data such as: Druid, Internal Analytics, Grafana, Snowflake, Tableau, Postman, etc.
Discovery – Work with the squad, tech & product leadership, as well as commercial stakeholders and clients to discover opportunities or problems, then define what features would cater to these.
Prioritisation – Balance impact & effort to ensure the team are working on the most valuable features and sequence them to maximise value.
Delivery – Ensure the delivery of high-quality products
Run all agile ceremonies for the team and help facilitate delivery.
Make sure dependencies are identified and flagged promptly to remove any blockers.
Write clear requirements’ documentation by providing detailed and cogent acceptance criteria for development teams.
Ensure that all releases are thoroughly tested and delivered to the highest quality.
Measure the impact of any changes or new features.
Strategy – Become the bridge between the tech squad and the consumers of it’s products and data. Work with leadership to define high level strategic objectives for the squad.
Collaboration – Clearly communicate to the wider teams and stakeholders progress on features and release dates. Share your knowledge and data skills across other members of the tech team.
What you will need:
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:
A good level of competence with data, specifically being able to source and analyse it but also some knowledge about how it is stored/transformed.
Comfortable working with products that are very technical and data heavy.
Ability to use data to perform product discovery, identify problems and opportunities and then define feature to solve for these.
Knowledge of digital advertising and advertising/marketing technologies would be a significant advantage.
Experience with working in SCRUM/Agile environment with cross functional teams would be beneficial.
Ability to learn new skills and pick up new technologies quickly, in this industry things move very fast.
A curious and proactive mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to empower a team to deliver great features and have fun doing it.
