Work Model: HybridPosition SummaryAs a Product Owner in our Product Development group, you will play a crucial role in bringing new CBN products to life. You will be the nexus between the customer, the business and the technical teams and coordinate the product development process that turns ideas into fully operational solutions for our various domains.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduct Vision:

  • Create and communicate a clear and compelling vision for the product, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and customer needs.
  • Act as the primary decision-maker regarding the product’s features, scope, and priorities, balancing the needs of stakeholders, the development team, and the market.
  • Work closely with the Product Designer to define the product development roadmap.

Product Backlog Management:

  • Create and maintain the product backlog, continuously refining and prioritizing items based on feedback, market changes, and business value.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, feedback, and insights, ensuring the product meets the needs of all parties involved.
  • Represent the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle and suggest new or improved features will deliver enhanced value.
  • Act as liaison between internal stakeholder groups (business and technical teams) and facilitate the actions and behaviours that keep the development process on track and on schedule.

User Story Development:

  • Write user stories and define acceptance criteria to guide the development team in understanding what needs to be built and how it should function.
  • Sequence user stories based on the value to the customer, criticality and timelines.

Sprint Planning:

  • Collaborate with the development team during sprint planning meetings to plan the work for the upcoming sprint, providing clarity on priorities and goals.
  • Review completed work at the end of each sprint, provide feedback, and ensure it meets the acceptance criteria and quality standards.

Market Research:

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to make informed decisions about the product’s direction.

Various other duties and responsibilitiesQualificationsKnowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or similar field) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience
  • Knowledge of the following:
  • Product management principles and practices
  • Agile development frameworks
  • UX design principles
  • Project management principles
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner/Product Manager
  • Previous experience in software development or business analysis position is an asset

Technical Skills

  • Tools: Jira and/or Azure Boards is an asset
  • Software: MS O365
