Altera Infrastructure are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled Production Control Room Operator to join our dynamic team. This role places you at the heart of a cutting-edge project, starting with the yard phase in the Dubai Drydocks and transitioning to offshore operation. On offer is the chance to join a rapidly growing team as part of our safe manning crew working on an equal time (4:4) rotation before moving to offshore Operations at the end of project execution.As part of the crew, you will be integral to the success of our project, contributing to preservation and maintenance activities, as well as supporting various yard work scopes. This is your chance to make a significant impact on a major project, working with ultra-modern equipment and advancing your career in the energy sector.Our modern FPSO is currently undergoing life extension work, field-specific modifications, and enhancements to improve energy efficiency. Once the yard phase is complete, you, along with our FPSO will be deployed to a UKCS field where it will be used to produce, store and offload hydrocarbons.Duties and ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for our next Production Control Room Operator.The Production Control Room Operator (PCRO) shall assist the Lead Production Operator and Production Supervisor in their functions within the control room, to ensure safe operational uptime while maintaining compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.Ensure that the day-to-day activities of the team are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the company HSEQ policies.Ensure that all activities are carried out in conformance with laws and regulations, contractual requirements, and relevant management systems.Shall keep continuous watch in the process control room and oversee the running of the production process and perform duties as assigned by line manager (Lead Production Operator) or Production Supervisor.

  • Start up, operate, monitor and shutdown all production and utility equipment for the production facility.
  • Monitor, maintain and optimise the process within operating parameters.
  • Act on and respond to any alarms or plant upsets.
  • Keep Lead Production Operator and Production Supervisor updated with plant status and condition.
  • Shall ensure the asset and Company Management of Change process are complied with.
  • Shall have knowledge of the Asset Performance Standards and Safety Environment-Critical Elements.
  • Communicate with and instruct outside operators.
  • Keep the production logs and reading sheets updated.
  • Control and update inhibit logs as per procedure.
  • Assist Lead Production Operator with shutdown activities.
  • Carry out role as Permit Coordinator.
  • Shall have a greater understanding of the Process Safety requirements of the asset and shall have knowledge of the asset Major Accident Hazards
  • Carry out clear concise and verbal shift handovers and end of tour written handover.
  • Monitor the overall safety related to ESD and F&G systems.
  • Participate in actively reducing asset Flaring and Emissions.
  • Training and mentoring of the production operator in the control room when applicable.
  • You will be part of the Emergency Response Team and will be expected to carry out duties in accordance with the asset Emergency Response Plan.

Qualifications:

  • SVQ Level 3 Processing Operations: Hydrocarbons (POLs).
  • HNC or equivalent process related experience (preferred).

Skills and Experience:

  • Significant experience of working in the Production dept on an offshore installation (FPSO preferred).
  • Control Room experience.
  • Excellent communications ability (written and verbal), including handovers and able to set clear expectations and accountabilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of safe system of work systems (ePTW) and participating in assessing risk management.
  • Generate and design permits and isolations.
  • Able to read interpret and apply information from drawings, reports and manuals.
