About this opportunityProduction Extrusion Manager will be managing Manages the daily operations of Extrusion, manages value stream, the direction and management of TC Transcontinental Performance System, and lean manufacturing projects and overall site lean manufacturing implementation for value stream specific assets and processes. Executes visual management strategies and facilitates problem solving at all levels using lean management problem solving tools. Executes continuous improvement operational strategies as directed by Facility Manager. Manages Process Engineers, shift / area Leads, and hourly production personnel to ensure customer expectations are met along with safety, quality, and productivity goals. Strategic implementation of daily work plan to ensure customer expectations are met.What you will do
- Facilitates a culture of safety, health, and environmental awareness.
- Supports all activities in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality and food safety management system
- Report any quality and/or food safety problems to personnel of authority to initiate action.
- Assist Facility Manager as needed.
- Manage Process Engineers, Shift Leads, SMEs, and hourly personnel.
- Manage the time, attendance, and payroll of all Extrusion hourly employees.
- Manager value stream safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Maintain high morale within the value stream
- Lead lean manufacturing site implementation
- Lead problem solving activities using lean management problem solving tools
- Manage resources to meet customer expectations
- Facilitate effective visual management
- Troubleshoot issues related to quality and productivity
- Meets with Facility Manager and the Leadership Team to provide continuous improvement support
- Lead and direct projects and initiatives to benefit Company, Business Unit, and Plant
- Facilitate problem solving at all levels
- Facilitate visual management activities
- Facilitate continuous skills development
- Interface with outside resources for new and changing customer needs
- Provide technical assistance to plant personnel with quality or productivity issues
- Interpret and analyze production data to drive improvement in identified areas
- Partner with processing engineering and operational personnel to defined, document and (1) implement training needs, (2) SOCs, (3) SOPS & (4) process flows.
What you have to offer
- 4-year degree in Finance, accounting, or economics
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Deep knowledge of lean problem-solving tools
- Knowledge of all manufacturing methods, processes and equipment
- Knowledge of production scheduling and operations
- Knowledge of Extrusion processes
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Excellent computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork
- Excellent work ethic
- Strong leadership skills
