Posting TextThe Dairy and Food Science Department at South Dakota State University (SDSU) is looking for a self-motivated and dedicated Program Assistant I to join our team. The Dairy Food and Science program has 9 faculty members, approximately 10 staff members, and 30 graduate research assistants. The faculty and staff within the department bring a wealth of experience, recognized expertise, and a strong dedication to teaching, research, and service.Job Responsibilities: This position will support the Department Head of Dairy and Food Science and ensure the smooth operation of the department by coordinating personnel, activities, and functions. Interaction with parents, students, stakeholders, and donors is a key part of this role. Additionally, this position involves administering and implementing our scholarship recognition program and serving as the liaison between the department and various agencies and personnel.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of:· Computer software and systems (i.e., Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)· Customer service practicesSkill & Ability to:· Problem-solve· Manage schedules· Prepare and interpret reports· Demonstrate organizational skills· Multi-task and handle competing project priorities· Effective oral, verbal and written communication· Develop effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and stakeholdersComments: SDSU is a tobacco free environment.
