Job Description
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will support the daily operations of the Programs Department, including grants management, compliance support, and general program management and administrative support. The Program Coordinator will also assist with proposal development, programmatic reporting, and tracking overseas grant funding, and support with special thematic projects of the Programs Department. The Program Coordinator must be capable of making independent judgments to determine appropriate courses of action, and must take initiative in performing job duties.
Responsibilities
- Handles administrative tasks for the Program Department, including supporting travel arrangements, coordinating logistics for global meetings, preparing documentation for contracts and cooperative agreements, and managing filing systems for overseas program funding.
- Supports proposal development and grant cycle management for U.S. Government cooperative agreements and contracts.
- Reviews quarterly program and financial reports for quality and accuracy for U.S. Government-funded programs, in coordination with Grants & Compliance staff.
- In coordination with the Program Coordinator for Grants, supports the management of private grants, including data management in Salesforce and reviewing program and financial reports.
- Provide support on special projects of the Global Programs team (ex. Mental Health and Psychosocial Support online platforms management, gender mainstreaming), as needed.
- Supports coordination with the Development Department to identify programs for funding proposals and support proposal development and tracking of private grants.
- Assists with determining program funding priorities and managing grant funding cycles for overseas programming.
- Disseminates information about overseas programming to other JRS/USA departments.
- Carries out any other tasks as assigned by the Program Manager and other senior Program Department staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, International Development, Political Science, or other related field.
- At least 1-3 years of professional experience, preferably related to emergency relief or international development or with a non-governmental organization.
- Previous experience with grants, U.S. Government funding, or NGO work a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in humanitarian assistance, refugee and migration issues.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a timely fashion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to take initiative, function independently and exercise good judgment.
- Prior experience in a professional environment, preferred.
- Solid computer skills for word processing, databases, spreadsheets and presentations.
- Excellent written and verbal language skills in English required.
- French language fluency preferred.

Salary Range: $51,000 – 60,000
