NGN supports this crucial work by offering streamlined access to funds and investments, shaping applications based on Guardians’ lived experiences and ensuring thriving programs for First Nations.
SUMMARY
As a Program Staff member, you will collaborate with our Senior Program Manager to spearhead impactful funding programs, empowering First Nations Guardians nationwide. Your pivotal role includes managing federal agreements, fostering stakeholder relationships, fundraising initiatives, and shaping the future of land, water, and cultural heritage preservation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:
- Support in Funding Management: Assist in the management and optimization of federal contribution agreements, ensuring compliance, reporting, and utilization of funds align with NGN’s objectives.
- Assist in Program Development: Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of existing and new funding programs, ensuring adherence to regulations and project timelines.
- Stakeholder Engagement Support: Aid in fostering relationships with federal agencies, partners, and stakeholders to facilitate communication and collaboration, identifying opportunities for program enhancement.
- Administrative Assistance: Provide support in administrative tasks for NGN fund adjudication committees and working groups, ensuring smooth operations and protocol adherence.
- Support Public Speaking Initiatives: Assist in representing the organization at conferences, events, or public forums, showcasing the impact and achievements of funding initiatives.
- Collaboration and Learning Participation: Engage in team initiatives aimed at continuous improvement, fostering collaboration, and facilitating learning opportunities among team members.
- Contribute to NGN’s Profile: Assist in raising NGN’s profile among First Nations Guardians and potential funders, contributing to visibility and engagement initiatives within the Guardian community.
- Aid in Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to support the development and execution of strategic plans for funding initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth.
- Compliance and Reporting Support: Assist in ensuring adherence to funding agreement requirements, monitoring deadlines, and facilitating accurate and timely submission of reports and documentation.
- Support Team Coordination: Assist in providing guidance and support to the remote team, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented environment focused on achieving NGN’s objectives.
- Travel: Willingness to travel at least 8 times a year for work-related events, meetings, or conferences.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of two years in program management roles, preferably within nonprofit sectors or similar environments.
- Funding Acumen: Familiarity with federal grants, contribution agreements, and fundraising initiatives is advantageous.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills, adept at building and nurturing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex information effectively.
- Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team, fostering a productive and innovative environment.
- Remote Work Adaptability: Proficient in managing tasks and communication effectively within a remote work setting.
- Criminal Record Check: Successful completion of a criminal record check.
