Zinc works with a broad range of governmental, NGO, and private sector clients, including the UK Home Office (HO); the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO); the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); the U.S. Department of State (DOS); UN agencies and missions; and foundations.Outline of the jobThis position will report to the Team Leader and will be a part of the project’s management team. The Program Manager will provide programmatic administration and management of one of Zinc’s strategic communications projects, including delivering campaigns to Global South countries aimed at building long-term resilience towards disinformation among vulnerable but persuadable audiences. As part of a dynamic team of regional and subject matter experts, the successful candidate will work to make sure that the project is delivered to the highest standard, by, among other things, working with project partners and Zinc’s internal Research, Investigative and Production teams to foster creative, proactive and innovative approaches to the challenge of disinformation and low levels of media literacy throughout Europe. The Program Manager, as part of the project management team, has an essential role in ensuring project delivery and compliance, including quarterly reporting and oversight of project deliverables.The Program Manager will be based in London or one of the project countries and can work remotely up to 3 days/week, with possible requirement for travel.What you’ll be doing– Support and manage the project team to deliver across program activities. Collaborate with project leadership to ensure that all project management tasks, including daily workflows, project reporting, check-in meetings and internal learning function smoothly.– Provide regular written and oral updates to the donor, ensuring transparency and alignment with project objectives and milestones.– Chair meetings in the absence of the Team Leader, ensuring continuity of discussions and project progress.– Collaborate with the Project Accountant and technical team to maintain forecasts and monitor levels of effort.– Oversee and execute the administrative aspects of the project to ensure smooth operations.– Responsible for tracking work progress by taking detailed minutes during meetings, preparing and distributing follow-up write-ups, monitoring action items, and ensuring timely updates and completion of tasks.– Compile team contributions and draft internal and external reports to update on the project.– Oversee the procurement process for consultants and service providers, serving as the primary point of contact for all related engagements.– Identify and escalate potential issues or risks to the Team Lead in a timely manner to ensure proactive resolution. Contribute to project expansion and development.– Contribute to written strategy documents, research reports and other project documents as required.– Represent Zinc at high-level meetings with clients, partner governments and project partners, while embodying the values of Zinc Network– Opportunities to provide strategic input on partners’ work, including regional research projects and strategic communication campaigns.RequirementsWhat we need from you…– Bachelor’s degree in international development, journalism, regional studies, or another relevant field required. Master’s Degree strongly preferred.– Strong written and spoken proficiency in English required, command of one or more regional languages a plus.– Experience with project management and administration, including budget management, donor reporting, contracting, invoicing and consultant management.
