Background:ELEVATE Nutrition (Enhancing Local Efforts for Vital, Transformative, and Evidence-Based Nutrition), funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is a five-year cooperative agreement led by FHI 360 in collaboration with Action Against Hunger, Bixal, CNFA: Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture, GEMNet-Health, and Oxford Policy Management. The project aims to advance implementation of high-quality nutrition programs and policies to improve the nutritional status of women and children, particularly in the first 1,000 days. ELEVATE Nutrition will drive efforts to sustain technical leadership in nutrition, enhance locally driven nutrition programs and policies, and boost innovative efforts to share learning and transfer knowledge.Job Summary:The Program Officer II will provide project operations support for the implementation of project activities and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. They will support operations procedures such as onboarding consultants, processing payments, helping track activity budgets, coordinating communications functions to finalize publications, and coordinate events, among other related project operations. The Program Officer II should have at least 4 years of relevant experience and at least a bachelor’s degree. A successful candidate will be detail oriented and an effective communicator with strong project management skills; have a strong desire to learn; and like working in a dynamic team environment with colleagues across multiple cultures, languages, and time zones. We value input from all staff, aim to set reasonable expectations, and are committed to fostering professional growth.Candidate must reside within 50 miles of FHI 360’s Washington, D.C. office in order to support meetings at that office approximately twice per month.Responsibilities:The Program Officer II provides project operations support during the development and implementation of project activities. Responsibilities include the following.Supports the onboarding of consultants, e.g., advertisements, selections, and documentation.Supports the processing of expense reports, payments, and subcontract invoices, including reviewing the documents prior to management approval.Enters requisitions into the Costpoint accounting system.Supports the timely completion of activities by monitoring implementation and developing process and management tools. Keeps supervisors and teammates informed of status, upcoming deadlines, issues, and/or delays.Supports the development and review of programmatic reports and communications materials, including annual and quarterly reports.Leads coordination of events, such as meetings, conferences, and workshops. Includes scheduling, sending meeting invitations, ensuring in-person meetings have the supplies and IT requirements covered, facilitating and/or taking notes, and sending post-meeting action items.Leads assigned project tasks and oversees task completion.Conducts new hire onboarding on procedures and administrative processes as requested. May serve as a mentor to other team members.Perform other duties as requested.Applied Knowledge and Skills:Strong and demonstrated project management skills. Strong attention to detail.Basic knowledge of public health nutrition helpful.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to problem solve and implement corrective action as needed.Ability to prepare reports and provide information to management in a timely matter.Articulate, professional, and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion.Fluency in written and spoken EnglishFluency in French, Portuguese, or Spanish desirableEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in international development and/or related field. Candidate FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget.Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 12% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.US Based Hiring Salary Range: $60,000 – $73,500International hiring ranges will differ based on location.This job posting summarizes the main duties of the job.
