The New York Portfolio Office (NYPO) supports the United Nations Secretariat, as well as other New York-based United Nations organizations, bilateral and multilateral partners in the delivery of UNOPS mandate in project management, infrastructure management, and procurement management
The Sustainable Development Cluster (SDC) supports diverse partners with their peacebuilding, humanitarian and development operations. It was formed by combining the following portfolios: Grants Management Services (GMS), UN Technology Support Services (UNTSS), Development and Special Initiatives Portfolio (DSIP) It provides Services to partners’ programmes that are designed, structured, and managed with a global perspective and primarily serving partners that are headquartered in New York. The SDC has a footprint in approximately 125 countries.
UNOPS has signed an agreement with the United Nations Office for Counter Terrorism (UNOCT) to implement the project activities for the Global Programme on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) and the Global Programme on Prosecution, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (PRR). Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, and in close coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist at UNOCT, the Programme Management Analyst will be expected to perform various activities including:
- Act as the focal point for data collection for the monitoring and evaluation of projects.
- Support with the development of data collection tools.
- Consolidate and analyze data collected.
- Develop timely and high-quality reporting on projects, including post-activity reports, donor reports, presentations, infographic snapshots and internal evaluation reports.
- Support with the oversight of independent evaluations.
- Support with the development of monitoring and evaluation capacity building products.
- Support meetings, events, conferences and trainings related to monitoring and evaluation.
- Support with the implementation of project activities globally, as required by the Global Programmes on PCVE and PRR.
Monitoring and Progress Controls:
The Programme Management Analyst will provide quarterly reports setting out progress against the following key deliverables:

Education
- Advanced University Degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) preferably in political science, international relations, public administration, criminal justice, psychology or other relevant field is required; Or
- First Level University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
Experience
- Experience in project monitoring and evaluation is required;
- Exposure to youth engagement is an asset;
- Experience in PCVE and PRR projects is an asset;
- Experience with quantitative data collection and analysis is desired;
- Experience with qualitative data collection is desired;
- Experience with data visualization is an asset;
- Experience supporting projects in Africa or Asia is desired.
Language
- Fluency in oral and written English is required;
- Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an asset.
