About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and organised Programme Manager with a keen interest in managing the NIHR study: “Improving quality of life and behaviour that challenges in people with mild to moderate intellectual disability through person-centred solution focused communication (ICONIC).”

In this programme of research, we are aiming to adapt and evaluate the effectiveness of DIALOG+ for people with intellectual disability. DIALOG+ is a brief, low cost solution focused intervention that improves the therapeutic effectiveness of routine clinical meetings between clinicians and patients, by using existing resources. DIALOG+ has been shown to be effective in improving quality of life in people with psychosis and other mental health conditions.

About You

The successful candidate will work within the Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry (USCP), Newham Centre for Mental Health. The post holder will be in charge of the day-to-day management of ICONIC in collaboration with and under the supervision of the joint Principal Investigators, Dr Afia Ali and Professor Victoria Bird. Crucially, this will entail developing and sustaining good working relationships with ICONIC partner organisations, senior researchers, and stakeholders.

The post is based at the Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry (USCP), Newham Centre for Mental Health in London. It is full time, fixed term appointment for 5.5 years (duration of the project grant). The starting salary will be Grade 5, spine point 34 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
