What will you be doing!
The Project Communications Assistant will provide administrative, event planning and logistical support to the
HWP Communications team in executing the communications function, in accordance with the Public
Information Program and other communications plans, strategies and protocols. This role will assist in daily
activities to support public communications initiatives including media tracking and event planning. The position
reports to the Manager, Public Communications

In this role, you will:

  • provide administrative, event planning and logistical support to the HWP Communications team

document filing, formatting, and handling, approved software, and other relevant technology
writing and editing documents, releases * Support communications and engagement events (internal and external), presentations and tours through

duties including booking room/venues, booking bus transportation, coordinating invites, meeting rooms,
ordering catering, and helping with set up and tear down, etc * Prepare, format and distribute/mails correspondence, stakeholder notifications, documents, reports,

presentations, and other paperwork, completing tasks to meet the due dates assigned by the
communications team * As directed by the manager, provide backup coverage at the reception desk. Act as first point of contact

for all visitors and callers, including contractors, municipal and other governmental and regulatory
representatives, property owners, residents and other stakeholders affected by, with an interest in or
concerned about CNL activities * Interact regularly with HWP directors, managers and staff, CNL Corporate Communications and broader

Project Communications staff to provide administrative support * Advise on issues impacting ability to execute against goals while proposing and developing solutions

  • Support team and manager in various ongoing projects and initiatives

What we are looking for:

  • Education: High school diploma; additional post-secondary diploma and/or additional courses in Office

Administration or related field would be considered an asset * Minimum 5 years’ experience in an administrative assistant role, preferably working in a team environment with

a focus on public interface, customer service and/or communications.

Security clearance eligibility required:

Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security”.
