  • Coordinating the scope definition and assisting in the preparation of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Working closely with Project Leader / Project Manager and project team during the preparation and maintenance of the baseline and working project schedules.
  • Providing contract administration, including reviewing contract deliverables, invoices, contractor timecards, etc.
  • Analyzing the schedule performance of the project and identifying variances, monitoring trends, recommending and implementing corrective actions and changes.
  • Obtaining and monitoring actual cost expenditure information and measure project progress performance using Earned Value Analysis.
  • Coordinating changes to scope and cost, ensuring related approval and configuration management documentation is in place before baselines are adjusted.
  • Coordinating the production and maintenance of the risk register for Project Leader / Project Manager review.
  • Coordinating the analysis of schedule/cost performance and risk assessment for Project Leader / Project Manager review.
  • Coordinating the resource and cost loading of schedules.
  • Preparing and presenting source information used for financial forecasting and resource demand.
  • Supporting preparation of project bid and schedule submissions.
  • Working closely with the Project Leader / Project Manager to ensure document submissions in a timely manner.
  • Supporting the Project Leader / Project Manager to achieve project targets, and or exceeding customer and company expectations.
  • Tracking and managing incoming and outgoing project management paper work, as necessary.
  • Developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with core project team members.
  • Supporting Project Controls team in the planning and control framework, including defining hierarchies, coding and accounting structures required for tracking, analysis and performance measurement.
  • Verifying the legitimacy of changes, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Supporting Project & Program Costs team in the cost estimating and budgeting processes when required.
  • Participating in project review meetings and making presentations of project information.
  • Working with contractors & consultants on construction schedules and incorporating contractor schedules into the master P6 schedule.
  • Conducting Critical Path analyses with project team and providing corrective actions or solution for deviation.
  • Receiving progress updates from contractors and project team to update P6 master schedule.
  • Managing and maintaining the change control process for respective project(s).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
  • Identifying and recommending improvements to complex processes that affect own area, others and / or clients.
  • Implementing potential improvements to processes in own area and related areas.
  • Encouraging / supporting innovation among others, extending to related areas / departments.
  • Responding to situations to contain / mitigate short-term risk in accordance with established processes and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
  • University degree or college diploma in a relevant field from an accredited school.
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 2 – 5 years of progressively more responsible work experience in Project Management; or
  • In the absence of a diploma / degree, 4 – 6 years of progressively more responsible work experience in Project Management.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proven ability to network across multiple teams and at different levels within the organization;
  • Outstanding organizational skills and oral and written communication capabilities. Adept at synthesizing complex information and distilling such information into clear and concise messages for written reports or oral presentations;
  • Demonstrates questioning attitude and has the ability to assimilate complex data and recommend solutions;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Strong computer skills; Advanced level capability in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Assess and working knowledge of MS Visio and ImpAct; Able to learn / use document management system and other CNL applications; and
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, sound judgement, tact and diplomacy.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
  • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
