The Project Control Coordinator II (PCC) is an intermediate level project controls position. The PCC takes a supporting role in the establishment of project management systems used for the planning and control of projects. The PCC has the responsibility to support and coordinate the production and updating of Work Breakdown Structures, project schedules, cost estimates, and various control databases. They perform analysis, progress monitoring and reporting. The PCC interacts daily with work package leaders, gathering and analyzing critical project performance information, investigating variances, and initiating corrective action. The PCC supports the preparation of scope, schedule, and cost management plans, writing reports, chairing meetings, and delivering presentations. The PCC may be required to assist junior staff and take on other duties as assigned by management.

What will you be doing !
Functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Project Management

o Coordinate the scope definition and assist in the preparation of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
o Work closely with Project Leader / Project Manager and project team during the preparation and maintenance of the baseline and working project schedules.
o Provide contract administration, including reviewing contract deliverables, invoices, contractor timecards, etc.
o Analyze the schedule performance of the project and help identify variances, monitor trends, recommend and implement corrective actions and changes.
o Obtain and monitor actual cost expenditure information and measure project progress performance using Earned Value Analysis.
o Coordinate changes to scope and cost, ensure related approval and configuration management documentation is in place before baselines are adjusted.
o Coordinate the production and maintenance of the risk register for Project Leader / Project Manager review.
o Coordinate the analysis of schedule/cost performance and risk assessment for Project Leader / Project Manager review.
o Coordinate the resource and cost loading of schedules.
o Prepare/present source information used for financial forecasting and resource demand.
o Support preparation of project bid and schedule submissions.
o Work closely with the Project Leader / Project Manager to ensure document submissions in a timely manner.
o Support the Project Leader / Project Manager to achieve project targets, and or exceed customer and company expectations.
o Track and manage incoming and outgoing project management paperwork, as necessary.
o Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with core project team members.
o Support Project Controls team in the planning and control framework, including definition of the hierarchies, coding and account structures required for tracking, analysis, and performance measurement.
o Verify the legitimacy of changes, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
o Support Project & Program Costs team in the cost estimating and budgeting processes when required.
o Chair/participate in project review meetings and make presentations of project information.
o Work with contractors & consultants on construction schedule and incorporate contractor schedule into the master P6 schedule.
o Conduct Critical Path analyses with project team and provide corrective actions or solution for deviation.
o Receive progress updates from contractors and project team to update P6 master schedule.
o Manage and maintain the change control process for respective project(s); and
o Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

What we are looking for :

Someone who has the ability to:

  • Network across multiple teams and at different levels within the organization;
  • Outstanding organizational skills and oral and written communication capabilities. Adept at synthesizing complex information and distilling such information into clear and concise messages for written reports or oral presentations.
  • Demonstrates questioning attitude and has the ability to assimilate complex data and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills: Advanced level capability in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Assess and working knowledge of MS Visio and ImpAct; Able to learn / use document management system and other CNL applications; and
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, sound judgement, tact and diplomacy.
  • French is an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 – 5 years of progressively more responsible work experience in Project Management; or
  • In the absence of a diploma / degree, 4 – 6 years of progressively more responsible work experience in Project Management.

Education:

University degree or college diploma in a relevant field from an accredited school.

Security Rerquirements:

Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.
