The proposed project aims to strengthen women’s economic participation in Dhi Qar and Halabja by addressing the individual, institutional, and structural barriers that limit women’s access to employment, entrepreneurship, and financial services. The project adopts an integrated approach that combines women’s economic empowerment with private sector engagement, institutional strengthening, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
Job Summary
The Project Coordinator, under the direct supervision of the Director of Programs, will plan and coordinate the project and its activities and oversee project implementation to ensure that the project aligns with the set objectives as per the agreement with the donor and to track expenditures as per the agreed budget.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Programs, the Project Coordinator shall perform the following duties:
• Oversee and manage all phases of project implementation in coordination with the Director of Programs, ensuring effective delivery of activities that strengthen women’s economic participation in Dhi Qar and Halabja, in line with project objectives and donor requirements.
• Develop detailed work plans, implementation schedules, and budget breakdowns for all project phases, guiding field teams and relevant departments on activities related to women’s economic empowerment, entrepreneurship support, employability enhancement, and access to financial services.
• Ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery of project activities within the approved scope and budget, in accordance with donor requirements and established program quality standards.
• Conduct assessments, market analyses, stakeholder consultations, and baseline data collection in targeted areas to inform evidence-based project design, beneficiary selection, and implementation strategies.
• Coordinate closely with technical teams, field staff, private sector actors, financial service providers, government counterparts, and implementing partners to ensure effective execution of project interventions that promote women’s employment, entrepreneurship, and economic inclusion.
• Monitor project progress against planned targets and indicators, regularly assess implementation quality, and prepare comprehensive weekly, monthly, quarterly, and final narrative and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate coordination and communication with donors, local authorities, private sector representatives, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment, compliance, and smooth implementation of project activities.
• Ensure systematic documentation of all project phases, including assessment findings, beneficiary data, training records, monitoring reports, success stories, and lessons learned, and maintain proper archiving systems in both hard and digital formats.
• Perform any other related duties as requested by the Director of Programs to support effective implementation and achievement of project objectives related to women’s economic empowerment, private sector engagement, institutional strengthening, and inclusive economic development.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Required Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
· Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project management, project implementation, women’s economic empowerment, livelihood programming, private sector engagement, or related development sector roles.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Kurdish, and Arabic.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with project management tools, data collection platforms, and reporting systems.
· High level of professional integrity, accountability, and ability to maintain confidentiality in a diverse workplace.
· Willingness and ability to undertake field visits and travel to project locations and other cities as required.
· Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when required to meet project deadlines and operational needs.
