The IDG Project Manager, reporting to the Deputy General Manager of Infrastructure Development Group, is responsible for delivering IDG-led projects and providing oversight and support for projects led by Capital where IDG is the client. These projects are typically being delivered under the Sustain to 25 or the new 10-year plan and include but are not limited to; Switchyard and Electrical Distribution (Class IV Distribution), Service Water, Powerhouse Bridging, Roads & Grounds, and Fire Water Distribution. The incumbent will be responsible for direct report personnel, work planning, engineering, procurement, risk, schedule, stakeholder engagement, and project closeout. They are accountable for the complete delivery of large-scale, high-risk, projects of critical significance, characterized as multi-year in duration and involving a significant financial commitment.What will you be doing!The IDG Project Manager, ensures that specific projects performed by the Program are planned and implemented in accordance with CNL’s policies, procedures, and project management processes to meet Customer requirements. The IDG Project Manager’s specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure safety is paramount in all activities.
  • Manages a high-risk portfolio of projects of critical significance, characterized as multi-year in duration and involving a significant financial commitment.
  • Authorizes project expenditures and procurement requisitions, e.g., purchase orders, invoices and expense claims within higher limits of authority.
  • Using extensive knowledge of business and management principles, manages all aspects of project planning, budgeting and resource allocation, through discussions with internal clients to define the scope of the project, deliverables and timing. Builds and sustains project teams, and sets priorities/clarifies goals
  • Serving as Responsible Manager for the projects.
  • Responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering the Program Execution project from the conceptual stages through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up and project closeout.
  • Responsible for coordinating with other functional managers (Engineering, Safety & Licensing, Procurement, QA, Planning and Control, Construction/Installation) to ensure that functional resource requirements are planned in accordance with Program delivery requirements, and that Program-specific aspects of functional resources are implemented.
  • Ensuring proper implementation of, and monitor the performance of, the Operations Technical Safety Management Programs which include Conduct of Operations, Maintenance Program, Hoisting and Rigging Program, and Emergency Management Program.
  • Participates in management team meetings related to project performance, priorities and staffing.
  • Secures external and internal resources to execute the project.
  • Coordinating with Senior Management and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring that applicable Company-wide procedures, operating instructions, and project-specific processes, procedures, and tools are applied to the planning, execution, and control of projects within the Project, and that their application is subject to periodic review for compliance and effectiveness.
  • Implementing the QA Manual within the Program, ensuring that project-specific QA Plans/Checklists are prepared, and establishing objectives for quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction across the Program.
  • Monitoring and reporting overall progress of projects within the Program, conducting reviews to verify outputs are aligned with plans, while and ensuring that significant variances and trends are investigated.
  • Establishing and maintaining a strong and effective customer relationship.
  • Establishing a safe work environment and improve the safety culture in this organization.
  • Assuring all safety management programs are followed and appraise the overall nuclear safety on projects.

People-Management Duties to Perform:

  • Creates the conditions / opportunities / environment, which brings out the “best” in the team; ensuring safe, efficient execution, including identification of multi-skilling opportunities of the work/schedule.
  • Provides leadership to a team of Project Leaders and Engineers, ensuring they meet performance standards.
  • Measure deviations and takes corrective action towards improvement through individual training plans, performance appraisals and lessons learned analysis for technical leadership and administrative aspects.
  • Carries out the hiring, selection, orientation, onboarding and training of new employees. Ensures that all new employees are welcomed to the team, are supported to succeed, and are trained to perform their role safely and effectively.
  • Provides frequent oversight and supervision for staff under their supervision. Provide regular training, observation, monitoring, coaching, instruction, recognition, feedback and corrective action to ensure each team member is performing according to expectations. Documents observations, provides regular reports and escalates matters as required.
  • Conducts incident investigations, return to work meetings and management of bioassay requirements.

What we are looking for :Education· The IDG Project Manager, has a degree from an accredited university in a discipline relevant to project management, engineering, business or commerce and an excellent track record for leading large projects to successful conclusion. The IDG Project Manager has years of progressively responsible project experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in a senior or lead project capacity.Experience· 5-10 years of maintenance and/or construction relevant experience or equivalent.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • They have achieved Project Management Professional (PMP) or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) certification.
  • The IDG Project Manager, has an established track record for project delivery and demonstrated leadership, regulatory and company requirements, Operations, Maintenance, Construction Management, and Emergency Management.
  • Must be self-motivated and flexible relative to work assignments; possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interface with peers other company organizations and Senior Management.
  • Extensive knowledge of processes related to strategic planning, human resources, and the management of people.
  • Strong general management skills, including planning, budgeting, resourcing, time management, negotiation skills, contract management and administration, and progress reporting for an executive audience
  • Knowledgeable in Engineering, Safety & Licensing, Procurement, QA, Planning and Control, Construction/Installation, and applicable business systems to ensure that Program-specific aspects of functional resources are implemented.
