Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires a Project Manager experience to be based in their client’s office in London, UK.
This is a hybrid role. You can work remotely in the UK and attend the London office 1-2 days per week.
This is a 6 month temporary contract to start ASAP
Day rate: Competitive Market rate
The ideal candidate plans, controls and executes a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value, through acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- As an App Migration Manager, Project Management plans, controls and executes a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value, through acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality. This position will lead small-to-medium projects of moderate complexity and risk and has the following accountabilities:
- Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close all aspects of the project lifecycle.
- Mobilize and lead a team with the necessary skills, composed of a mixture of staff and suppliers across organisational boundaries.
- Rigorously manage scope through a structured change management process to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters with focus on delivering the business benefits.
- Create and validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures.
- Ensure appropriate stakeholder change and communication plans and engagements are developed and executed.
- Proactively analyze variances against plan to assess trends threatening agreed scope, time, cost, and quality commitments. Identify signs that a project may be at risk and escalate quickly and appropriately.
- Apply client project management and IT control/assurance methodologies, standards and processes including architecture, information risk management, and transition to support.
- Program and project delivery expertise in agile, and knowledge of waterfall delivery frameworks for application development, including Application rehosting/migration experience
- Technology skills; application migration (on prem to Cloud), software engineering tooling, application integration
- Entrepreneurial skills, such as a business-value mindset, critical thinking, storytelling, stakeholder management, and enabling value creation.
Special Challenges:
- Quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders. Resolve conflict and deliver tough messages with grace. Continually update relevant business stakeholders of project status.
- Execute and drive decisions despite limited information.
- Motivate a team while removing barriers so that the team can complete its objectives while managing pressure.
- Work virtually in a diverse global organization and with major outsourced suppliers of infrastructure and application services.
- Tailor stakeholder communications material and level of detail to the audience.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years in IT with at least 2 years of experience in leading projects or workstreams within projects
- Should have 4-year degree in IT or a related field.
- Good Agile project experience.
- Good understanding and experience of the various Agile frameworks
- Experience planning and leading of Agile projects and educating stakeholders and others involved while managing a project
- Agile certifications/trainings preferred
- Experience in Agile tooling (ex – ADO) is a must.
- Exhibiting servant leadership behavior, empowerment and increasing transparency that enables self-organization of teams
- Professional certifications related to project or programme management are desirable.
- Familiar with and able to adhere to project management methodologies and tools.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Domain knowledge and skills in Power Trading, European Electricity Markets, and the end to end lifecycle for these domains;
- Professional skills, such as proficient leadership and communication skills, excellent planning and delivery skills and a good problem solve
