Job Type: 1-year contractOur client within the banking industry is seeking a Project Manager to join their team for a 1-year contract. In this role you will lead a large-scale regulatory reporting enhancement and automation project. This role will be responsible for overseeing project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring compliance with OSFI, the Bank Act, and other Canadian banking regulations and guidelines.Key Responsibilities:– Lead the end-to-end implementation of the regulatory reporting project, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
– Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
– Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., compliance, finance, risk, IT) and external regulatory bodies as required.
– Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring business continuity and operational resilience.
– Act as the primary liaison between senior executives, regulatory bodies (as applicable), and project teams.
– Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support compliance and regulatory assessments and validation.
– Ensure accurate data mapping and updates as required.
– Work with IT and data teams to enhance data quality and implement automation of reporting processes.
– Identify opportunities for process improvements in regulatory reporting and risk management.
– Oversee seamless integration of new systems, tools, and reporting frameworks.
– Develop and implement standardized procedures and ensure related training is conducted.
– Ensure compliance with AML guidelines and regulatory requirements.
– Work closely with risk and compliance teams to manage project-related regulatory risks.
– Monitor regulatory changes and incorporate updates into project planning.Key Requirements:– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
– PMP and Agile certifications preferred.
– 8+ years of experience in project management within the financial services industry.
– Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements for Schedule I or II banks in Canada.
– Experience working with regulatory bodies such as OSFI.
– Expertise in risk management, compliance, and financial reporting systems.
– Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
– Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
– Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
