Your opportunity:
Facilities & Services (F&S) is a portfolio comprised of teams with diverse day-to-day operations and skill sets. The individual leaders and employees within the portfolio are dedicated to collaborating to providing excellent service to all clients.
The Sustainability and Energy Management arm of F&S is dedicated to driving sustainability through consistently improving our sustainability performance across many its many components. We are guided by the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and are blazing a trail towards regenerative sustainability.
The Project Manager is an exciting opportunity within the Sustainability office to lead in the sustainability space and work with us to progress our sustainability portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Sustainability Office, the Project Manager will develop and deliver specific projects, as well as build relationships with other departments across the university and beyond – to optimize the use of our campus as a living lab, help us meet our goals and embed sustainability in all we do across our campuses, students, faculty,staff and surrounding communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and implementing project phases
- Developing charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s)
- Developing and implementing operational plans that support the administrative and business goals of the unit
- Liaising between departments
- Reviewing and assessing requirements needed to meet project timelines
- Cultivating ongoing, high-profile prospective partnerships that advance strategic agendas
- Writing project-specific proposals and briefings
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environment, Sustainability or similar field, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Six to seven years experience including Project Management, Managing/Developing relationships, Sustainability
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, Sharepoint or similar
- Strong interest in all elements of sustainability
- Demonstrated strong presentation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Superior organizational skills; attention to detail
- Desire to affect impactful and aggressive change
- Initiative and ability to exercise diplomacy, good judgment, tact, and discretion
