Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Project Officer shall perform the following duties:
1- Support the supervisor in project identification, formulation, and follow-up of implementation according to the donor agreement.
2- Ensure the quality of implemented field activities;
3- Technical, financial, and administrative follow-up of the project, including but not limited to:
a. Preparation, follow-up, monitoring, invoicing review, and reporting of the project, including evaluation of reports and overall work plan;
b. Monitoring of the project, including field visits, on-the-spot evaluation, and control of payments and contracts performance;
c. Dissemination of project information to third parties (agencies, NGOs, INGOs, etc.);
d. Contribution to the management reports, social media updates, press releases, and other media channels;
e. Liaison with relevant government bodies in the area and/or government agencies, NGOs, and stakeholders, including participation and reporting on all relevant meetings;
4- Supervise all necessary logistics for activities of projects related to workshops, trainings, if requested by the supervisor;
5- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner;
6- Prepare budget-based resource requirements;
7- Preparing a detailed project schedule and work plan;
8- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to the supervisor about adjustments and progress;
9- Preparing weekly and monthly progress reports to the direct supervisor;
10- Coordination with project trainers and consultants on a consistent basis to ensure the effectiveness of the project;
11- Contacting beneficiaries on relevant matters to the project;
12- Perform any other task that might be requested by the direct supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, Project Management, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
· Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in implementing development or humanitarian projects, preferably in climate resilience, livelihoods, agriculture, women’s economic empowerment, or market systems development.
· Demonstrated experience coordinating field activities, community engagement, trainings, and stakeholder coordination.
· Experience preparing internal reports, work plans, implementation trackers, and project documentation.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, coordination, and facilitation skills.
· Good language skills in English and Arabic (written and spoken); Kurdish is an advantage.
· Experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
· Ability to work effectively with government institutions, local communities, NGOs, INGOs, private sector actors, and donors.
· Willingness and ability to undertake regular field visits and travel within Iraq as required.
