Project Research Physician (Adv#22/2024)
Position Description:
The Project Research Physician will report to the Programme Manager and will be responsible for planning, organizing, supervising and implementing the project activities, and overall supervision and monitoring, and maintaining the optimum quality of the clinical services to achieve the project goals and objectives following the project protocols and maintaining the organizational values and guidelines. S/he will be involved in–
- Manage and guide field staff for clinical & programmatic field activities and field site preparation;
- Maintain continuous collaboration as a local contact for relevant project activities, establishing/maintaining a network of physicians;
- Explain project procedures to the participants and obtain informed written consent/assent form;
- Patient evaluation as and when necessary for assigned project activities;
- Counsel clients for uptake of PrEP, PrEP adherence, harm reduction for Chemsex drugs, HIV testing and risk behaviours.; Dispense PrEP to clients;Collect samples from clients;
- Conduct routine supervisory visits to ensure smooth running of the project activities,
- Preparing bills of expenditure of the project activities and submitting them to the supervisor;
- Maintain close liaison with the project staff like, counsellor, laboratory technologist, local DIC management and relevant organizations;
- Guide and motivate the Peer Educators of the local DIC to implement the activities smoothly;
- Review existing data periodically; maintain confidentiality of data and do basic analysis;
- Prepare monthly reports regularly and share them with PI;
- Maintain liaison with the service centers, other partners, and stakeholders;
- Understand & strengthen the linkage of facilities to secure project outcomes;
- Organize/participate in orientation programs related to project objectives;
- Ensure regular recording and reporting of assigned project activities by programme protocol;
- Resolve any queries and escalate appropriate issues to seniors/supervisors.
Required qualifications and experience:
- MBBS degree from a Medical College recognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC);
- 1 year of work experience in the public health arena. Experience working with key populations at risk of HIV preferably with sexual minority people will be preferred.

Contract Type and Duration:
- Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement; duration will be 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & benefits:
- Tk. 57,350/-(consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances.
- Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
