Then, watch for a unique link in your email to apply.We are looking for a Property Accountant to join Oxford’s North American Accounting team. The successful candidate will be part of an innovative team who is responsible for the accounting and analysis for a portfolio of properties and other projects as assigned. This role requires strong analytical and critical thinking skills, strong communication and the ability to multitask in a complex environment. Experience working in the real estate industry is preferred.Specific duties include:

  • Transition a portfolio of assets that was previously externally managed in house.
  • Responsible for all aspects of general ledger accounting, including month-end close entries, bank reconciliations, commodity tax remittances, etc.
  • Prepare, analyze and interpret monthly financial results to support the business.
  • Analyze cash flows and manage contributions/distributions through the various legal structures.
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
  • Design and implement complex tenant recovery models.
  • Review and analyze tenant leases, and year-end audited cost statements to facilitate final tenant billing reconciliations.
  • Work proactively with property management and asset management to identify issues regarding the monthly financial results, tenant recoveries / tax questions, and provide guidance on proper accounting policies.
  • Design and implement asset management portfolio reporting packages to deliver timely and accurate information to aid in decision making
  • Preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements in various jurisdictions, ensuring consistent application of accounting standards in accordance with local GAAP or IFRS.
  • Coordination of interim and year-end audits for various.
  • Participation in projects with a focus on continuous improvement and making recommendations for efficiencies in day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with Oxford’s processes and controls.

Experience/Qualifications Required

  • Minimum 3-4 years work experience in real estate accounting
  • University degree.
  • CPA designation or CPA program is substantially completed is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a self starter and excels in fast paced dynamic environments.
  • Embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a teamwork environment and strong ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong financial analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex situations and synthesize relevant information.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with HFM and JDE considered an asset
